Greetings and salutations everyone,
Here are the highlights from our November 26th, 2019 meeting.
Rotary: More Than A Service Club -
It's A Family
President Tara Welch dedicated the month of November to the "Family of Rotary", and before this week's presentation Tara quoted a definition of family which appropriately summed up what a Rotary family is:
"Family isn't just what you're born into. It consists of the people who support and love you, and the people you can confide in and trust."
This week we heard from fellow Rotarians about how their fathers introduced them to the wonderful world of Rotary. The presentation began with a online video sent to Tara from Jonathon Teich, son of Andreas Teich. Next up was Brett Lewless, son of Gerald, and lastly Jeff Yantz spoke of his father Jerome.
Each of them shared memories of how their fathers brought them to Rotary meetings and club events and introduced them to what Rotary really is to its members; not just a service organization, but a family. These early interactions with Rotary would later lead to each of them becoming Rotarians themselves.
Jonathon, Brett, and Jeff all shared sweet, heartfelt, and humorous antidotes about their early experiences and spoke about the fellowships they have grown within the club. After hearing them it was obvious how proud each of them were to carry on the proud Rotary traditions that their fathers introduced them too.
Annual Rotary Foundation Gala

The Rotary Foundation Gala took place on November 15th at Zehnders in Frankenmuth. It was a great night celebrating the good our international foundation does, while in the company of Rotarians, interacts and Rotaracts.
Our immediate past President, Harvey Schneider accepted our clubs polio recognition. Our club received this award for raising more than $1,500 towards the eradication of polio. Congrats to our club for always being a leader in the polio fight.
