We are in week two of our hybrid meetings! Please remember to RSVP to Shelli Thurston at
sthurston@baycitymi.org by 3pm the Monday before the meeting so we can provide an accurate count of attendees to the Doubletree. You must RSVP on if you will be attending and if you will be having lunch. We are limited to 25 in-person participants to allow for proper social distancing.
We definitely experienced some growing pains with our audio during the hybrid meetings, but am please to state that we have resolved the poor audio quality issue that occurred at the Doubletree last week. Our club has also purchased a portable conference speaker that will provide better audio at our future outdoor meetings like we had this past summer (only once the weather is warmer though!)
On Saturday we had our Ride to End Polio event. Thank you to Chuck and Nancy Cusick, Tara Welch, and Jeff Yantz for all of your work organizing and facilitating this event. one month into the 2020-2021 Rotary year. We were visited by our District Governor Randy Ettema and shared pictures on Facebook. I have also included the pictures and video in this Breezes.
Our club has also added online payment to our website. This will open many opportunities for Rotarians and community members to donate to our events and club going forward. If you would still like to make a donation to our Ride to End Polio please visit www.rotarybaycity.org/donate Tara Welch, RI Foundation Chair, will forward all donations to Rotary International to be recognized for our event and for the donors to be recognized.
Play City Park is open at Veteran's Park and is a wonderful addition to our community. It was recently "tested" by Liam Strohkirch, son of Club President Carrie Strohkirch. After thorough research and testing by Mr. Strohkirch, age 8, the park was certified as "Awesome". Pictures of the research process can be found below. Our club donated $25,000 to this project while under the leadership of Past President Brenda Scramlin.
Opinions and information are flying during this election time. Try to encourage others to use the 4 Way Test and show how being a Rotarian makes our community better for all.
