Events

Leadership from the service organizations Kiwanis International, Lions International, Optimist International, and
Rotary International have encouraged their clubs and youth programs around the world to work together on
projects during one week as part of a joint initiative dubbed Celebrate Community – #CelebrateCommunity.
Issues related to health and wellness, food insecurity and hunger, education and literacy, and the environment
will be addressed through community cleanups, food donations and distributions, walks or runs to raise money
for specific causes and book collections for children.

This year, we are looking for new, unopened spice containers. All types are welcome, but here are some
popular and versatile options:
Baking Spices: Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger
Savory Spices: Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Paprika, Cumin, Chili Powder, Oregano, Basil,
Thyme
Salt & Pepper: Essential for any dish!
Blends: Italian Seasoning, Taco Seasoning, Curry Powder
Please avoid: Very old spices (lose potency), open containers, or anything expired.

Our September Rotary Satellite Club Meeting is coming up, and I’m looking forward to getting everyone together after a busy summer!

Light snacks and beverages will be provided. Feel free to BYOB if you’d like anything special.

If the weather cooperates, we’ll spend the evening outside around the bonfire. If not, we’ll move everything inside!

On the agenda:

• Induct any new members who are able to attend
• Go over our plans and service projects for the next four months
• Get caught up after a busy summer
• Enjoy some time together as a club!

September Service Act: Bring Spices!

We’re adding a simple service project to our meeting this month. Please bring spices to help us stock local food pantries! Spices and seasonings are an easy-to-overlook pantry item that can make a big difference for local families.

And as always, please feel free to share the invitation with family or friends who may be interested in learning more about Rotary or joining our Satellite Club. We would love to have them!

Join us for our October Rotary Satellite Club meeting as we learn about Constellation Craft Kits, an incredible local organization bringing joy to children during hospital stays.

Thursday, October 8 | 5:00–6:00 PM
 Lower Level of City Market, Downtown Bay City

Constellation Craft Kits was started by Katie Mueller after her daughter went through treatment from ages 4–6. Today, her daughter is 10 years old and thriving, and what started from their family's experience has grown into a program serving children at 7 hospitals across Michigan, including hospitals in Bay City, Saginaw, Flint, Grand Rapids, Royal Oak, and Detroit.

Katie will share their story, give us a tour, and show us how their completely stocked “Grab & Go” craft kits provide kids with something fun and creative during difficult days.

We’ll return to Constellation Craft Kits and roll up our sleeves! Our goal is to bring together 20+ volunteers to assemble as many kits as possible.

Friends, family, coworkers, and prospective Rotary members are welcome! Come see what our Satellite Club is all about while helping us make a BIG impact for kids across Michigan.

Join us for a hands-on Rotary Satellite Club Service Act supporting Constellation Craft Kits! ️

The more hands we have, the more kits we can assemble and the more children we can reach.

Friends, family, coworkers, and prospective Rotary members are encouraged to join us! You do not need to be a Rotary member to volunteer.

Come ready to roll up your sleeves, have some fun, and make a BIG impact in just two hours!

Hello Satellite Club Members & Community Partners,

We’re excited to share that the Rotary Satellite Club of Bay City – Service Club will once again be partnering with the Foster Families Navigation and Resource Center for our December service project!

The Center supports youth ages 14–23 who are currently in foster care or have recently aged out, and this holiday season we’ll be helping make Christmas a little brighter for them.

Here’s what we have planned:

 Sponsor Kids & Purchase Gifts
We’ll receive the Christmas wish lists before Black Friday. Once we have them, we’ll send out a sign-up link so everyone can choose items they’d like to purchase. More details will come as we get closer.

 Wrapping Party
Wednesday, December 16th
4:00–6:00 PM
Foster Families Navigation and Resource Center

We’ll come together to sort and wrap gifts for the youth the Center serves. And yes, there will be snacks!

We’re really looking forward to partnering with this organization again and helping bring some extra joy to the holiday season.
